Perhaps not a high paying job at the beginning, but one that will cover comparativ cost of living.
The employment market is well here in the U.S. He'll be just fine.

this guy have been at bethel for 25 years when he could have been making 75-100 thousand a year as an engineer.
so they kick him to the curb so they don't have to house him and his wife anymore.
they run into a problem at warwick and they ask him to come back for 3 weeks.

i have not been to a meeting for about 2 years now.
i do not intend to go back but one thing has me baffled.
why do ones that have faded and been out for years return?
The Spanish JW experience is soooooo different than what I read here.
I certainly cannot relate to the bitterness felt by some here.

Relax.
This is a very nice venting venue.
Hey, just keeping it real according to my experience.
Nothing will ever be perfect.
Relax.

If his degree is legit, he will find suitable employment soon.
Do not sweat anybody else's fever.

The familiar peace-loving, cordial, happy community keeps many not wanting to let go.
The 'anything goes as long as you aren't hurting someone' attitude of today's world is just not appealing to JWs, even to the ones not in complete agreement with all their policies.
The good far outweighs the bad. I can only speak by my experience.

anything i should be aware of?
i am not sure i will go, since i just moved away from home a month ago.
it is not cheap to travel 250km and pay for hotel here in denmark, and i am not exactly rich.
Go.
Treat it buffet style: Absorb and apply the sensible and reasonable.
Enjoy the clean, peaceful, orderly, happy, very nice looking JW crowd.
They truly are very nice people overall.
Find, accentuate, the positive.
Enjoy!

been thinking about this lately after almost 14 years out of the jw cult myself.
when you think of the language used within the jehovah's witness organization in such a closed society environment in how the wt society promotes almost absolute " trust " in the elders , the governing body, and trust even in the " friends " in the congregation themselves- is it any wonder that unscrupulous child molesters can enter any congregation pretending to be " spiritual " and take advantage of unsuspecting children or the parents ?
think about it : an individual is judged as a " spiritual " person within the jw organization based on what wt functions or duties they are good at performing.
This statement is absolutely FALSE. Child abuse is everywhere! Nothing any organization does will prevent it.
Parents/families should be more protective of their young. Then again, what if the abuse happens within the family itself?
The problem I have is with the way it's handled. It should be turned to the authorities for investigation and, if true, appropriate punishment.

wow, wow, it appears on about the 50:00 minute mark and it shows the kingdom at hand publication and many old school awake issues.
it shows also many many la la land moments where the actors sing to the lyrics.
i know they been doing this for last few months.
Music videos...
The Org is sooo fake now.

i posted this thread sometime last year but thought i would revive it due to the new ones on the board, and to change things up a bit.
my favorite?
bro murikami, from hawaii, very humble, kind bro.
There was this literally fat cat on the Massachusetts Spanish circuit, C.O. Rene Ramirez. This self-aggrandizing jerk used to lecture us Hispanic JWs on the way we spoke, how we pronounced our words, really condescending attitude. There was a rumor that he had been some sort of university professor at some point in his life.
The elders feared him as he had a very demanding and authoritative demeanor. I hear he's demoted, changed his name somewhere in lower California; some have said that he's left the Org.
Well, he sure wasn't a humble servant. Didn't care for him at all.

found this little gem of an article in the june 15, 2011 wt.... should youths get baptized?“i am so happy that my daughter is now a servant of jehovah, and i know that she is happy too,” said carlos, a christian father in the philippines.
a father from greece wrote: “my wife and i are delighted that our three children were baptized as jehovah’s witnesses during their adolescence.
they are making spiritual progress and are happy about serving jehovah.”christian parents have reason to be overjoyed when their children get baptized, but sometimes the joy is accompanied by uneasiness.
The WTBTS has stated countless times baptism is the most important decision/action in a person's life. Therefore, a minor, still not fully developed brain and personality must not enter into this lifetime sealed contract.
True Christians shall obey the Biblical mandate and follow Jesus' example in this and all other matters.
However, the WTBTS will not follow our Christian leader in this regard because they are interested in the numbers, as well as the psychological hold baptism puts on people.
Soooo saddened when I see or hear of anyone getting baptized while younger than 18.
